Adding to OTP, another icon annoyance: "beauty in the breakdown". Because nothing says beautiful like a picture of a crying girl. [sarcasm]Crying is awesome! I wish my life was that angsty![/sarcasm] Honestly, I like a good angsty icon - but that line is so overused, it's a cliché.

Winston Peters is a fucking moron, but most of us in NZ already know that. Stop trying to scare old people into voting for you, man! Four years ago it was the insidious Chinese culture. Now it's the evil Muslim plot to blow up the local KFC.

I was kind of hoping for Summer Glau to get the role of Kitty Pryde but this girl looks alright (aside from her somewhat scary forehead). I have to say, I have very, very low expectations for this film. Which I find rather sad. :(

The new Serenity poster is nice. But it looks more like a book cover, than a movie poster to me. Still - it's better than the previous one. And I still don't like the font.

Dear Casting People of X3,

If you insist on continuing with your trainwreck of an X-Men sequel, please call Linda Cardellini's people. She can act and kinda looks like Kitty Pryde.

* watched all of season one of Battlestar Galactica in one sitting. Verdict: Awesome. Can't wait for more

* currently watching naruto. Up to episode 19. Verdict (so far): Awesome, hilarious, cute.

* starting to watch veronica mars, only up to episode 6 'cause it's kind of hard to find any at the moment. Verdict: Love it. I need more!

* trying out the free trial for City of Heroes. Verdict: Neat, but the best part is creating the costumes. :)

* recent albums bought/downloaded: Gorillaz (verdict: ok), Billy Corgan (verdict: reminds me of Adore, will grow on me, I'm sure), White Stripes (verdict: I like it, not as much as Elephant or De Stijl, but my opinion may change), Fat Freddy's Drop (verdict: definitely a lazy summer day album - best male vocalist *ever*. Sorry Che Fu.)

* saw Batman Begins today. Verdict: Awesome. Probably the best superhero origin movie ever.

* no iconning. Verdict: Catastrophe. Shall hunt for pictures to icon now.

May post again tonight if I get sufficiently bored.

Oh, look: rugby on tv. I hope the all-blacks win.

I had such a crush on him when I was fourteen (that is, pre-uncle fester haircut). I still have deep affection for the smashing pumpkins. But, honestly? He can be quite the megalomaniac. I think the fact that he's the first person to admit that is the reason I haven't lost any respect for him.

Got my Angel Season 5 DVDs last week (which is why I was absent for a whole seven days here). So now, a few thoughts:

Whedon Confirmed for Wonder Woman

I'm feeling a bit... meh... about this. I've never really followed Wonder Woman. Lassoo? Invisible airplane? What? I'll still go see it, though.

Personally I'm dying of boredom waiting for September 30.

So OTP stands for One True Pairing.

Hmph. Kind of a let down. I was hoping for something a little more dramatic. At one point I thought it might mean Oh, The Passion. Which can be read as romantic or silly.

One True Pairing is about as appealing as... the thought of George Lucas writing the screenplay for a remake of Doctor Zhivago. (And anyone who's seen the Annakin/Padme "seduction" scenes in Episode II should know just how horrifying that would be.)

I solemnly vow never to use OTP on an icon. Unless I'm referring to Organised Tentacle Probing.
