Our house was broken into on Monday. They took quite a few things. It's bad enough that we've lost so many of our posessions but the feeling of utter helplessness & anger is just so frustrating & kind of scary. I've had trouble getting to sleep the past couple of nights.

My computer was taken so I probably won't be iconning much, which means I probably won't be posting on here much either for a while. Luckily we have contents insurance but I don't think I'll be getting a new computer any time in the near future.

On a completely unrelated note: after re-reading Harry Potter books 1-6, I have come to the conclusion that the barman at the Hog's Head is Dumbledore's brother.

It does suck. I hate the feeling of insecurity, but I don't think I'll be shaking it anytime soon. We're looking at moving somewhere else now. Thankfully we got everything sorted at the insurance agency on Tuesday & we should only have to wait 1-2 weeks.

Re: Dumbledore's brother. Pure hunch/guess work. The first mention of the Hog's Head was by Hagrid (I think in book 1 or 2) where he mentions that you can meet odd folk there. Then in OotP Mad Eye Moody shows Harry the photo with Dumbledore's brother in it mentioning that he was an odd fellow. Then the DA kids meet at the Hog's Head & Harry recognises the rough looking barman from somewhere. And in HBP Dumbledore knew that a bunch of Death Eaters were waiting at the Hog's Head for Voldemort. Voldemort accuses him of omniscience but Dumbledore smilingly passes it off as being friendly with the barmen at the Hog's Head. Dumbledore also mentions somewhere that everyone knows he likes to stop by the Hog's Head for a drink now and again. All purely conjecture, but that's what makes it fun. I could be completely wrong. ;)

Jeez, I've been thinking about this too much. :)

WOW - you very well could be right! Why on earth don't I catch those things?

I can't blame you and your family for thinking of moving. And I've never quite experienced what you have on that level - I did have my car broken into and stuff stolen - and my best friend's purse was taken. So I do totally get that sense of privacy being ripped away - just not on that same level.
